Wye fish, Lugg fish

'Wye fish, Lugg fish' was inspired by the confluence of two of Herefordshire's loveliest rivers, the River Wye and the River Lugg.

Set in this seemingly harmonious idyll, 'Wye fish, Lugg fish' also hints at a more challenging narrative, pointing towards the natural process of migration and immigration, territorial tension, and occasional conflict, which has historically been a recurring theme across the many centuries of the Welsh Marches. Perhaps, it suggests, we are all immigrants here.

'Wye fish, Lugg fish' is a series of four related images hand-created on iPad in 2023. The series will initially be released as limited edition prints at an exhibition at the Old Stable Gallery in Leominster, Herefordshire in early 2024, and will be available for purchase direct from the gallery during the exhibition.

Prints, available on archive-quality 'Hahnemühle' fine art paper, will be released as very limited editions of 10 in each of 3 sizes and 5 colour themes.

The Old Stable exhibition will feature work by several members of the Marches Arts Group, and will run from 27th Jan - 23rd Feb 2024 at the Old Stable Gallery, 11 Corn Square, Leominster HR6 8YP.
